Question:   Is there a recommended emission designator that would be acceptable for ATSC DTV transmitters for equipment authorization purposes?

The first three Characters "6M00" correspond to the ATSC bandwidth of 6 MHz.

5th character "C" designates the modulation type for vestigial sideband.

6th character "7" is the nature of signals modulating the carrier indicating two or more channels containing quantized or digital info.

7th character "W" represents the information being transmitted is a combination of different types.
