Question:   In a device that has a Part 15.247 transmitter, specifically a 2.4GHz spread spectrum device and a Part 24 GSM1900 phone, what is the limit for the spurious emissions; 13dBm as per part 24.238 or 20dB below the SS transmitter carrier, when both transmitters are on at the same time?



Answer:   Spurious emissions form the Part 15 device, is subject to the Part 15 rules. Spurious emission caused by the Part 24 device must meet the Part 24 requirements. If the spurious emission is caused by the simultaneous operation of both devices, the limit is the highest level allowed by either rule part.
