Proposal: The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) urges the Commission to prescribe use of effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) for testing both narrow-band and broadband transmissions. Explanation: On pages 56-57 in the Draft Presentation, effective radiated power (ERP) is used for testing narrow-band transmissions, while EIRP is used for broad-band transmissions. This is may lead to inaccurate data, as modern antenna measurement chambers typically provide dBi gain data. Thus, EIRP may be preferable, because it is less complicated when one metric is being used. Also, measurement gain results from the Anechoic Chamber are in dBi, and dBi can be easily used to calculate EIRP. Thus, EIRP testing will lead to the most accurate results. TIA appreciates the Commission's thoughtful consideration of this matter.

    Joe,

Thanks for consolidating these various KDBs. It is clear that a lot of work went into this. It will also be extremely beneficial to improve accuracy, repeatability and consistency. Attached are suggestions for clarification.
