Greetings, FCC, from PCTEST! We wanted to express our gratitude for the continued commitment to keeping Hearing Aid Compatibility rules up-to-date and easy-to-understand. Consumers with hearing loss have more access to better technologies than ever before, and the latest updates to the KDB will guarantee continued accessibility for such consumers. Attached is a brief list of items which were noted about the currently available draft for KDB 285076. The main goal is to improve the clarity of the guidance in order to reduce possible confusion and increase consistency of test methods between devices, test labs, etc. Thank you in advance for your time reviewing and considering these comments! Hello FCC, We are concerning about chapter 2.b) & 2.c) of draft_KDB 285076 D01 HAC Guidance v06. As below show the difference of these two versions, I think the old version made more sense. Because, as you know, Hearing aids can operate in both acoustic coupling mode and a T-Coil coupling mode. Some manufactures to produce the WD that only support acoustic coupling mode, and do not support T-Coil coupling mode by cost based considerations. So, for KDB 285076 D01 V05r01, we only test RF emissions test(M) is enough to show the compliance for HAC requirement. But for draft_KDB 285076 D01 HAC Guidance v06, we have to test both RF emissions test(M) and T-Coil(T) test to show the compliance for HAC. Pls consider about this and let us know what is the comments from FCC, thanks! KDB 285076 D01 HAC Guidance v05r01, chapter 2.b) b) A certification application associated with a HAC-tested handset must include an exhibit containing one complete M-rating test report for each model marketed and reported as M# rated, or one complete M-rating report and one complete T-rating report (see example in Appendix A) for a model marketed and reported as M#T#. draft_KDB 285076 D01 HAC Guidance v06, chapter 2.b) & 2.c) b) For ANSI C63.19-2011, a certification application associated with a HAC-tested handset must include an exhibit containing one complete RF interference (M) test report for each model marketed and reported and one complete T-Coil magnetic coupling report2. c) For ANSI C63.19-2019, a certification application associated with a HAC-tested handset must include an exhibit containing: one complete RF interference test report, one complete T Coil magnetic coupling report, and one complete volume control test report (see D04) for each model marketed and reported.

Note: It is important to understand that the staff guidance provided in the KDB is intended to assist the public in following Commission requirements and does not constitute rules. Accordingly, the guidance is not binding on the Commission and will not prevent the Commission from making a different decision in any matter that comes to its attention for resolution.
