Second Category: Labelling - Parts 2.925 & 15.19

Question:   What are the labelling requirements for Part 90 Devices, and what labelling and certification requirements must be applied to equipment with different trade names marketed under the same FCC ID?

Answer:   The identification and labelling requirements for equipment subject to Certification, including Part 90 transmitters operating under one of the Private Land Mobile Radio Services, are found in Sections 2.924 - 2.926 of the FCC rules.  The company's legal name is not required to be on the label with the FCC ID.  A product may be marketed under different trade names without re-filing for equipment authorization approval, since the FCC ID remains the same for identical products.
