Keyword: Frequency accuracy for Section 15.249

First Category: Radio Service Rules
Second Category: Part 15 General

Question:   What frequency accuracy needs to be maintained for a transmitter operating under Section 15.249 (902-928 MHz band)?

Answer:   Frequency accuracy is specified in Section 15.215(c).

Intentional radiators operating under the provisions in Sections 15.217 through 15.249 must be designed so that the 20 dB bandwidth of the fundamental lobe, must be within the frequency band that operation is permitted. For example, for intentional radiators operating at 902 to 928 MHz, under all conditions including modulation, frequency sweeping, hopping and stability, the frequency tolerance of the carrier, over variation in temperature, is specified in Section 15.249 (2).
