Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The MITRE Corporation requests Special Temporary Authority (STA) to operate in the following frequency ranges 791-808 MHz and 832-849 MHz in the date range of 6/22/22 to 9/30/22 with intermittent usage. MITRE is filing a STA request to support a technology demonstration for the US Coast Guard upon a US Coast Guard vessel. For this proof of demonstration, transmitters will be placed in various rooms inside a USCG ship. The transmitters are acting as an access point for mobile users inside that space. The technology demonstration is for testing of a private internal ship-board communications network. MITRE believes that the operation of the requested channels will not cause interference to any established stations and will operate within the confines of a US Coast Guard vessel. MITRE has conducted a spectral survey of the area to determine which frequencies are in use within the requested bands. MITRE will monitor the spectrum bands during testing to ensure no interference takes place with other users. We believe there is minimal risk to operation of any preexisting signals in the 799-821/832-862 MHz spectrum within the testing area since the transmitters are being placed within the confines of a metal ship. The ship should almost act effectively as a giant faraday cage containing our emissions Please refer to call sign WT9XSK for a similar application. This application is to test the same concept but at different frequencies.
