Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
STA is necessary for use of Bluetooth and WiFi standard equipment, required for communication among modules within the spacecraft; and for the S band downlink transmitter, which will transmit telemetry to the ground station, and for the VHF downlink, which will transmit backup telemetry to the ground station.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Spaceflight test of new type of spacecraft bus constructed from multiple sub-units (satlets), assembled aboard the ISS. This will be the first technology demonstration of a non-traditional spacecraft architecture. The duration of operation will be two weeks, following deployment from the International Space Station. This will occur sometime during the period of validity for this STA.
