Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To measure a low frequency radar experiment to measure ice thicknesses in Alaska. To measure a low frequency radar experiment to measure ice thicknesses in Alaska: (1) Transmitted power: 10 Watt (2) center frequency and duty cycle: 2.5 MHz, 1% duty cycle (6 microsecond chirp and 600 microsecond pulse interval) (3) date rate, modulation scheme: 1 MBytes/sec, FM chirp (4) Transmitter model and manufacturers name: Custom designed and built by U. of Iowa for future NASA space mission (5) location:Alaska inland glacier (6) antenna type and polarization: 60 m trailing wire antenna, HH polarization (7) Antenna gain and beam width: gain of 1 (dipole antenna), beam width=60 deg (8) receiver: commercial receiver with passing band selections: 1-12 MHz
