The STA is required to test the Radio Frequency Identification Tags the Boeing and Comercial Airlines use on various items aboard commercial aircraft. The device being used is certified for unlicenced use in Europe but not in the US. Since the RFID tags need to be able to be read by European airlines, Boeing wants to perform tests to ensure proper operation.

Please explain the purpose of operation:  To ensure RFID tags on various items on board a commercial airliner are compatable with European certified readers using European unlicensed frequency band.
