Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
I have an upcoming test for which I want to use a MITRE custom digital broadcast transmitter. The basic transmitter system consists of the following components: 1. Source: A digital video signal transport stream 2. Exciter: Modulates source, converts to RF, and up converts to a desired frequency 3. Amplifier(s): Boosts the power up to 1000Watts 4. Splitter/Combiner/Couplers: For the 2 amp case the exciter signal is split to both amps and then is combined at the output with a feedback coupler passed to the exciter for tuning 5. Mask Filter: Removes unwanted edge noise and filters RF to conform to desired standard 6. Slot Antenna: Adds gain and sends test signal over the air 7. Frequencies (546 MHz, 566 MHz, 586 MHz)

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  We will transmit DTV signals as part of a research program.
