The STA covers a test campaign between 1 Jan 2025 and 30 June 2025 for the development of a synthetic aperture radar system for navigation purposes. The test campaign will be a temporary installation on an experimental aircraft (N164PA or N165PA) operated by Phoenix Air Group. The experimental aircraft is not the intended operational platform for the radar system.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To collect data about the performance of a prototype version of the navigation system in a variety of terrains The objective of the test is to collect data about the performance of a prototype version of the navigation system in a variety of terrains. Desired geography includes mountains and open water to further the development of the navigation system. Flight(s) will originate at KVPC (Cartersville, GA) and operate primarily between Cartersville and the Weiss Lake (Centre, AL) vicinity in NE Alabama. Flight(s) may continue in airspace over Georgia, Alabama, central and eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina, South Carolina in order to collect additional data and comply with Air Traffic Control. Additional open water testing may fly over the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico near NOAA buoys 41112 (Fernandina Beach, FL), 41108 (Wilmington, NC), 42084 (Southwest Pass, LA) or 42091 (Trinity Shoal, LA). Specific flight patterns will depend on weather and airspace availability.
