Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Hermeus wishes to conduct a field test to validate several systems needed for a future flight demonstration of its prototype small autonomous hypersonic aircraft platform. The test will last no longer than 30 days and does not require the license period of a full Part 5 experimental license.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The purpose of the RF testing is to validate and verify that all ground and aircraft components are in compliance with system as well as regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the RF system must not cause any harmful interference with other systems on board of the aircraft. As such, a comprehensive testing is required to adequately qualify the command, control, and telemetry system.
