Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA is necessary to extend authorization for launch vehicle communications for upcoming SpaceX Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy missions from the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, and Vandenberg Space Force Base, and recovery operations. The application includes sub-orbital first stages and orbital second stages. Trajectory data shall be provided directly to NTIA, USAF, and NASA. All downrange Earth stations are receive-only. SpaceX will pre-coordinate individual launches under this STA directly with the Launch Range and relevant federal spectrum users. Launch licensing authority is FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation.
