Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The request for a Special Temporary Authority (STA) is integral to the development and validation of the Sparrowhawk Marine Radar system, which is being proposed as a Detect and Avoid (DAA) solution for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations. The STA is sought to facilitate a series of critical tests and evaluations, ensuring the radar systems effectiveness and reliability in detecting potential intruder aircraft, a fundamental safety requirement for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) operations.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The operation, conducted under the STA, aims to validate the Sparrowhawk Marine Radars performance at an altitude of 1220 meters AGL. This testing is not merely about technical validation but is also a preparatory step for the team to become adept at data collection and equipment management in real-world scenarios. Ensuring seamless communication and avoiding equipment interference are additional critical objectives of these operations.
