Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Qualcomm is filing this request as a modification of the fixed site parameters filed in STA 0035-EX-ST-2012 / Call sign WF9XKM to conduct limited testing within the 14.0 to 14.5 GHz frequency band. These new parameters replace those requested in 0035-EX-ST-2012. Qualcomm will use the experimental authority to conduct tests that will allow it to characterize the Next Gen Air-Ground System antenna performance using a singled fixed transmitter on the ground and measuring RX power in an aircraft. Changes from 0035-EX-ST-2012 include: 1) Replacement of the Bakersfield area site with two new sites. 2) Added 2nd site in San Diego 3) Adjusted azimuth for all sites to include a range of angles to be tested. 4) Extended duration of required testing. Actual test times will reported in progress reports as requested in filing 0035-EX-ST-2012.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
To conduct tests that will allow to characterize the Next Gen Air-Ground System antenna performance . Please see operational description attachment
