Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA is needed to accommodate a delay of the DCC-1 mission to ISS which is the subject of Application File number 0660-EX-ST-2024, grant call sign WX9XQL. The requested start date is 05/01/2024 and end date is 10/28/2025, out of abundance of caution to cover possible slips in the launch date.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
The primary purpose of this operation is to deliver cargo to the ISS using DCCS, conduct ISS attached operations/experiments, dispose/return cargo from the ISS, and to land Dream Chaser. There has been a delay in the DCC-1 mission. The current request for an STA covering the new DCC-1 mission dates, nominally 45 days with an expected launch date of May 21, 2025. Out of abundance of caution to account for possible slips in the Launch date, an STA is being requested from 05/01/2024 to 10/28/2025.

No
Exhibit submitted:
No
(a) Width of beam in degrees at the half-power point:
(b) Orientation in horizontal plane:
(c) Orientation in vertical plane:
Will the antenna extend more than 6 meters above the ground, or if mounted on an existing building, will it extend more than 6 meters above the building, or will the proposed antenna be mounted on an existing structure other than a building?
No
(a) Overall height above ground to tip of antenna in meters:
(b) Elevation of ground at antenna site above mean sea level in meters:
(c) Distance to nearest aircraft landing area in kilometers:
(d) List any natural formations of existing man-made structures (hills, trees, water tanks, towers, etc.) which, in the opinion of the applicant, would tend to shield the antenna from aircraft:
Composite Antenna structure modelled as omnidirectional. Location is on a hybrid structure (DCCS) which nominally launches into orbit from Cape Canaveral, stays in orbit for a maximum of 72 days after which it is de-orbited, re-enters the atmosphere, descends and lands (EDL) per a pre-coordinated and deconflicted Suborbital EDL Trajectory with wheel stop on a runway (at KSC or VSFB). During EDL (starting at an altitude of about 125 km down to wheel stop), transmissions in the 2287.5 MHz are with TDRSS only.
