Capuano Roxbury Community College Campus Library Room 211 Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure Committee on Ethics December 11, 201 7 The Honorable Ajit Pai Chairman 445 l21h Street, SW Washington, DC 20554 Dear Chairman Pai: '7th District, Massachusetts I write to you today regarding the "Restoring Internet Freedom" item, WC Docket Number 17- 108, on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) December open meeting agenda. I strongly urge you to delay consideration of this item and begin an investigation into reports of fake comments being submitted that support repeal of net neutrality. There have been widespread reports of fraudulent comments being submitted to the FCC on this matter. I am absolutely certain that these reports are accurate and that fake comments have been submitted to the FCC. Late last week, television station WFXT Boston 25 (a Fox affiliate) informed me that my own wife, Barbara Capuano, had apparently submitted a public comment in the net neutrality docket. See your own website, Comment ID# 19108102994713618. I am 100% positive that my wife did not submit these comments (and, in fact, disagrees with the position stated) so I can attest that there is fraud occurring with the submissions. Net neutrality is an important issue to many of us and it is simply not responsible to rush a vote on December 14th when there is so much concern over the submission of fake comments. If it happened to the wife of a Congressman, how many other comments were submitted under fake names? I am urging you to delay the vote and conduct an investigation into how widespread this issue is with the FCC's comment system. I look forward to hearing back from you before the 14th on this matter.
