Thank you for your letter urging that the Commission work with LightSquared and other
stakeholders on LightSquared's proposals to find a consensus that will allow LightSquared to
deploy its planned wireless broadband service. Your letter will be included in the record ofthe
related proceedings and considered as part of the Commission's review.
LightSquared has submitted various filings proposing alternatives to its existing
authorizations. Commission staffis reviewing these filings and the complex technical issues
associated with LightSquared's proposals. In addition, on July 20, 2013, the FCC's Office of
Engineering and Technology extended an Experimental Special Temporary Authority initially
granted to LightSquared in April 2013. This authorization enables LightSquared to continue a
testing program related to its proposed alternative to its existing authorization.
