DIRECTIONS/PARKING
From Virginia
Springfield/Woodbridge - Take I-95 North to the 495 Beltway to I-395 
North.  Take I-395 North across the 14th Street Bridge.  Continue North on 
14th Street, SW and make a right on Independence Avenue, SW.  At the 
first light make a right on 12th Street, SW.
Tysons Corner/Fairfax - Take Route 50 or 66 and cross over the 
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge to Constitution Avenue, NW.  Make a right on 
14th Street.  Make a left at Independence Avenue, SW (3rd light).  Make a 
right on 12th Street, SW.
From Maryland
Silver Spring/Chevy Chase - Take Beach Drive/Rock Creek Parkway 
south toward Washington, DC.  At the Lincoln Memorial, follow the signs 
for Independence Avenue, SW.  At the Tidal Basin cross over Kutze 
Bridge and stay on Independence Avenue, SW to 12th Street, SW.  Make a 
right on 12th Street, SW.
Greenbelt/Laurel - Take the Beltway (Route 495/95) to the Baltimore-
Washington Parkway.  Take New York Avenue, NE/Washington, DC exit.  
Make a left turn at 14th Street, NW and a left again at Independence, SW 
followed by a right on 12th Street, SW.
Upper  Marlboro - Take Route 4 West to Suitland Parkway to I-295 
North, then to I-395 South.  Take the 6th Street North exit; make a left on 
D Street, SW and another left on 12th Street, SW.
Via Metro
Smithsonian Station - Exit from the Blue and Orange Line on 
Independence Avenue.  Proceed south on 12th Street, SW.
L’Enfant Plaza Station - Exit from the Blue, Orange, Yellow and Green 
Lines on D Street. Proceed West on D Street, SW and then South on 12th
Street, SW.

Portals I (12th Street) - $9/hour, $15/maximum.  Directions:  Take a right 
on Maryland Avenue, SW off 12th, SW and an immediate left into 
alleyway leading to garage.
Department of Education Building, Potomac Center Plaza, 550 12th
Street, SW, Washington, DC 20202 (12th Street) - $13.00 a day in by 7:30)
Directions:  Take a left into the parking garage directly across the street 
from the FCC building.
Building Access
All building entrances are security controlled. A photo ID will be required 
by security personnel. When going through security, you will be asked to 
turn off and then on your mobile phone and computer.  A security guard 
must see the power on/off prior to entrance to the building.

FOOD ACCOMMODATIONS:
Capital Café (6:00am – 4:00pm)

· Courtyard level (CY).  All visitors will need an escort to visit sites other than the 
TW level open meeting rooms.

· There is an automated teller machine on the MA level.  All visitors will need an
