The result of those efforts, the “Measuring Broadband America” report, first proposed in the National Broadband Plan, and takes major steps towards bringing greater clarity and competition to the home broadband services marketplace. The study measured speed and performance as broadband is delivered to the home so that different service providers and technologies could be compared scientifically. The FCC will also unveil new consumer resources to help Americans take the confusion and mystery out of choosing the speed they need, including tip sheets and a step-by-step guide.
