DA 96-7 Federal Communications Commission Record Before the Federal Communications Commission Washington, D.C. 20554 PUBLIC NOTICE Released: Ja nuary 11, 1996 Report No. CS 96-1 CABLE SERVICES ACTION OMB Approves FCC Form 1240 Annual Updating of Maximum Permitted Rates for Regulated Cable Services On September 22, 1995, the Commission released a Thirteenth Order on Reconsideration i.n MM Docket No. 92-266, Implementation of Sections of the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992: Rate Regulation ("Order") , FCC 95-397, simplifying rules affect­ ing cable operator's regulated rates. The Order establishes a new optional rate adjustment methodology that permits operators to limit their rate increases to once per year. This methodology will limit delays in recovering costs that oper­ ators may experience under the current system. To implement these rule changes, the Commission cre­ ated FCC Form 1240 (Annual Updating of Maximum Permitted Rates for Regulated Cable Services). FCC Form 1240 was approved by the Office of Management and Bud­ get on December 15, 1995.
