PUBLIC NOTICE Federal Communications Commission 445 12 th St., S.W. Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 12-990 June 22, 2012 MOBILITY FUND PHASE I AUCTION UPDATED DATA FILES FOR AUCTION 901 AU Docket No. 12-25 1. This Public Notice announces the availability of certain files that have been updated to conform to decisions previously announced by the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Wireline Competition Bureau (“Bureaus”). In the Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice, the Bureaus described how we identified census blocks eligible for the Mobility Fund Phase I support to be offered in Auction 901. 1 With the Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice, the Bureaus released Attachment A, a summary of the final list of eligible census blocks, and we concurrently provided more detailed “Attachment A” files in electronic format only. 2 We have since found that we need to correct some of these files to accurately reflect the determinations made in the Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice. Accordingly, we are releasing a new Attachment A to replace the one released with the Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice, and we are updating some of the corresponding “Attachment A” files. 2. The files for which we now announce updates are available via the link for “Attachment A Files” at http://wireless.fcc.gov/auctions/901/. Specifically, the “All Eligible Census Blocks” file; the “Biddable Items” file; and the state spreadsheet files for Maryland, Oklahoma, and Nevada have been updated. 3 Interested parties should use these files instead of previously-released versions. 3. Concurrent with the release of Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice, the Bureaus released an interactive map of the eligible census blocks. The map is a visual representation of data from the Attachment A files, which contain more information and generally more detail than is displayed on the map. The Bureaus subsequently released geographic information system (GIS) formats of the data shown in the interactive map. 4 The interactive map and the related GIS data formats will be updated in the near 1 “Mobility Fund Phase I Auction Scheduled for September 27, 2012; Notice and Filing Requirements and Other Procedures for Auction 901,” Public Notice, AU Docket No. 12-25, DA 12-641, at paras. 9-23 (rel. May 2, 2012) (“Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice”). 2 Subsequent to the release of the Auction 901 Procedures Public Notice, the Bureaus provided updates to some of the Attachment A files in two public notices. See “Mobility Fund Phase I Auction; Additional Data Formats of Eligible Census Blocks,” Public Notice, AU Docket No. 12-25, DA 12-721, at paras. 2-3 (rel. May 8, 2012) (“Auction 901 Additional Data Formats Public Notice”). See also “Mobility Fund Phase I Auction; Supplemental Short-Form Instructions and Other Information,” Public Notice, AU Docket No. 12-25, DA 12-947, at paras. 3-4 (rel. June 15, 2012). 3 The county name of one of the census blocks in Maryland has been revised to remove an extra apostrophe. The updated files reflect the correct inventory of 604 fewer eligible census blocks and 8 fewer biddable items in Oklahoma than in the previous files. The updated files also reflect the correct inventory in Nevada of 21 more census blocks than in the previous files and no change in the number of biddable items. 4 Auction 901 Additional Data Formats Public Notice at paras. 5-8. future to match the corrections in the Attachment A files. Once updated, the link for the map and each of the GIS data links will be displayed with a notation of when they were updated. 5 4.
