Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 12-782 Released: May 18, 2012 FCC ANNOUNCES MEETING OF THE COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY, RELIABILITY, AND INTEROPERABILITY COUNCIL SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 6, 2012 AT FCC HEADQUARTERS By this Public Notice, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission), consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act,1 announces that the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC or Council) will meet on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, beginning at 9:00 a.m., in the Commission Meeting Room at FCC Headquarters, located at 445 12th Street, SW, Room TW-C305, Washington, DC 20554. The CSRIC is a Federal Advisory Committee that will provide recommendations to the Commission regarding best practices and actions the Commission can take to ensure security, reliability, and interoperability of commercial and public safety communications systems. On March 18, 2011, the FCC, pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, renewed the charter for the CSRIC for a period of two years through March 18, 2013.2 Several working groups will present recommendations to the CSRIC for its consideration, covering topics such as NG911 interface requirements, E9-1-1 location accuracy, E9-1-1 best practices, and implementation of the Common Alerting Protocol in the Emergency Alerting System. Other working groups will provide status reports. The CSRIC Working Groups are described in more detail at http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/communications-security- reliability-and-interoperability-council-iii. Members of the general public may attend the meeting. The FCC will attempt to accommodate as many attendees as possible; however, admittance will be limited to seating availability.
