Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 11-652 April 8, 2011 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 42 (VIRGINIA) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND 800 MHZ NPSPAC REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETINGS PR Docket No. 91-300 The Region 42 (Virginia)1 Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPCs) will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., the 800 MHz RPC meeting will convene at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront, 5700 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, Virginia. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss applications submitted to the 800 MHz Region 42 planning committee and Plan updates. Immediately following the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting, the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at 3:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss items pertaining to the 700 MHz Regional Planning Committee. Both of the Region 42 Public Safety RPC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public Safety providers in Region 42 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 800 MHz band within Region 42 should plan to attend.
