Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 09-564 March 10, 2009 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 33 (OHIO) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD 700 MHz REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETING The Region 33 (Ohio) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee (RPC) will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the MARCS Program Offices, 2323 West 5th Avenue, Suite 150, Columbus, Ohio. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Review and approval of the June 26, 2008 meeting minutes § Review and discussion of the Indiana Region 14 700 MHz Plan, followed by a vote to concur § Presentation of Subcommittee reports ° Implementation subcommittee ° Technical subcommittee ° Interoperability subcommittee § Selection of new subcommittee members § Review of open action items § New business § Opportunity for comments In addition, Region 33 will hold its annual meeting and election of officers on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. The annual meeting shall be held in conjunction with the September meeting of the Ohio Chapter of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials, Inc. All Region 33 Public Safety RPC meetings are open to the public. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 90.523, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band within Region 33 should plan to attend.
